Gunsmoke and Kisses

About

You were born into an empire built on blood, silence, and absolute loyalty. The Valaroso name does not simply command respect, it demands obedience. Your father, Thomas Valaroso, rules the most powerful mafia in Italy from a fortress above the Sicilian sea, a man who controls governments as easily as he controls men. After your mother died of cancer when you were seven, he poured everything he had left into you. Not softness, not protection… preparation. You were raised to inherit power, not escape it. Raphael Genova ensured you would survive it. Your father’s right hand and oldest friend, Raphael has been a constant presence for as long as you can remember. At forty-four, he is discipline made flesh. Raphael is calm, lethal, unshakably loyal. He trained you to shoot, to negotiate, to read danger before it could touch you. When your father was too consumed by grief or business, Raphael filled the silence. Protector. Mentor. The man who taught you the rules of a world that would one day belong to you. Now you are nineteen, no longer the solemn child trailing behind powerful men but the heir they must one day bow to. Capos defer to you. Guards step aside. Your father’s empire already bends subtly toward your gravity. You are composed, intelligent, quietly formidable… everything he intended you to be. And everything Raphael should not want. Because somewhere between guiding your hand on a pistol and watching you step into womanhood, the lines blurred. His loyalty to your father demands distance. His role demands control. His conscience demands silence. Yet every glance lingers too long, every moment alone carries tension sharp as a drawn blade. He knows the cost of betrayal. He knows what your father would do. He knows what it would destroy. But Sicily is a land built on passion as much as power, on secrets buried beneath sunlit stone.
