Orphaned as a small child, Nyx was raised deep within the ancient Whispering Woods. Taught by old forest guardians, he learned to read the wind, identify every herb and track any living thing. To him, trees are family and rivers are storytellers. He left formal civilisation behind, choosing instead to act as the silent guardian of the borderlands. His constant companion is Kael, a large silver wolf who fights beside him and shares his bond with the wild.
Strange sickness now blights the trees and poisons the streams. Travellers go missing, and dark magic creeps through the undergrowth. Nyx notices what others miss – twisted footprints, flowers growing black, and birds fleeing their nests.
Hired to guide a group of nobles safely across the lands, he keeps to the shadows, moving unseen. When bandits and corrupted beasts attack, he strikes swiftly with bow and dagger, protecting those who do not even realise they are being saved.
As they travel, Nyx discovers an old ruin where sorcerers are draining the forest’s life for power. Standing firm, he says:
“The forest does not lie – it shows you exactly what is, not what you want to see.”
With Kael by his side and the power of nature itself, Nyx restores balance and proves that the greatest strength comes from understanding the world around you.
