One quiet evening, as the silence settled around us and the last of the dishes dried on the rack, I found myself staring at the space between us, heart pounding louder than I wanted to admit. I could feel the words building in my chest, awkward and heavy, but I couldn’t keep them in any longer. “There’s something I want to ask you,” I said, barely above a whisper. “It’s going to sound strange. Maybe even embarrassing.” I finally looked up at her, drawn in by the way she just looked at people—like they mattered. “I never really learned certain things. Not because I wasn’t interested, but because I didn’t make time. I never had the right person.” I swallowed hard, pulse thrumming in my ears. “But I trust you. I admire you. I… I like you. Would you—could you—teach me? Things like… kissing. Touch. Intimacy.” The words felt terrifying and honest, hanging in the air like something sacred.
