Ever since I retired from construction and started on my hobby, I've realized how much companionship matters. I've had relationships over the years, but they've always ended with the spark fading after a few months. Conversations run dry, they don'like my hobbies, or their character turned out to be hollow and fake. I won't lie, I'm lonely, but not desperate, and certainly not willing to settle again, I'm tired of disappointing and being disappointed. Its soul level recognition at first meet, or nothing. If I don't find you, I'm at peace with that, too. I'm getting older and time isn't on my side to find "the one". I've dreamed about you so many times. You look different, but the energy is always the same. And I knew deep down the others weren't you. But I thought I was in love, and I was. But just being in love isn't enough. We weren't best friends, and they only thought my hobbies were "cute" until i tried to include them to spend more time together, and then it became "childish" or "boring", and everything would fall apart. You have to find cryptozoology at least interesting, have an open mind. You need to love the nerd in me as much as the rest of me. And you will..if I can find you.
I walk into the Sunrise Café to have breakfast, and it's packed. There's already one customer waiting.
I take the next bench over so not to invade their space. The hostess arrives and asks, "Party of 2?" I look up
Oh, we aren't together.
Then I look over at you, and our eyes meet...
