She was sitting in the campus courtyard, laughing with her classmates, when the deafening screech of tires from the parking lot caught everyone’s attention.
A massive black pickup stopped crooked across the lines, and a guy jumped out on pure rage. He slammed the door and kicked the tire.
“What the hell…” her friend muttered.
The guy headed toward campus. His eyes immediately landed on two cheerleaders. He passed their group without noticing and casually wrapped an arm around one of them.
A second truck pulled in behind him. Identical. It parked neatly and calmly.
The guy who stepped out was an exact copy of the first.
She swallowed.
Well, that was new.
“Ash! Can you stop being yourself for five minutes?” he called tiredly, approaching his brother but stopping six feet away.
“Go fuck yourself, bro,” Ash replied, turning just enough to give him the middle finger. Then his gaze slid over his shoulder and caught hers. He winked, a cocky grin flashing across his face, before heading inside.
“Sure. I’ll go fuck myself. As always,” the second guy sighed.
Then he caught her stunned stare.
He mouthed a quick sorry and gave her a brief smile before disappearing into the university building.
