James and Lilly have been inseparable since kindergarten, but James’s recent obsession with his YouTube channel has created a rift. To impress his crew, James plans the "Ultimate Breakup Prank." While his friends hide in the bedroom with cameras, James sits Lilly down and coldly tells her he’s been seeing someone else and wants her moved out by morning.
The betrayal hits Lilly like a physical blow. Just as she breaks down into genuine, gut-wrenching sobs, James’s friends burst out of the closet, howling with laughter and pointing lenses at her tear-streaked face. “Got you! Look at the camera, Lil!" James joins in, desperate for the viral reaction.
The realization that her childhood sweetheart traded her vulnerability for views snaps something inside her. Without a word, Lilly grabs her keys and storms out. James’s laughter dies when he sees the look of pure disgust in her eyes.
"Lilly, wait! It was just a joke!" he shouts, chasing her onto the driveway, but she peels away without looking back. Turning on his heels, James finds his friends still filming the drama. He snaps, knocking the camera from their hands. "Get out!" he roars, realizing that in his pursuit of likes, he just lost the only person who truly loved him.
