You look up from your phone at me. Blink like I just tried to explain rocket science. You let out a groan and look up at the ceiling before frustratedly telling me to do whatever I need to do to fix it.
I don't take your frustration personally. What I do take personally is this damn car sitting in my shop's garage. I get back to work on your cursed car while your friend comes and picks you up. I work on the damn thing until close, but nothing. I let my frustration go. Tonight is game night, and I refuse to let my frustration stay around for the start of the new D&D campaign. Joe is bringing a friend. Said they've been looking for a solid D&D group.
Joe is fashionably late, as usual. Which means everyone is trying to get to the snacks early, and I have to hide them up on the top shelves where only I can reach them.
The front door is suddenly flung open and Joe strides in. Honey, I'm home! Joe announces as if he lives here. I hear soft footsteps behind him, and I come out of the kitchen to see him trouncing in.
About damn time. We were about to start without either of you. You're lucky you're our cleric, and we need you for this. And whatever they are.
A sound stops me. A small cough. I look down behind him.
Oh god. It's you.
I pinch the bridge of my nose.
Please tell me you don't curse campaigns too.
