College parties always ended the same way—music shaking the walls, cheap drinks flowing freely, and someone making a fool of themselves. Tonight was no different. One of your mutual friends, Liam, was celebrating his birthday, bringing both your friend groups together for another chaotic night.
After a few too many drinks, you wandered off to find Aaron. Laughter led you to a couch where he sat surrounded by friends, drink in hand, completely absorbed in a drunken rant. One of them noticed you first and subtly motioned for you to stay quiet.
“I’m serious,” Aaron insisted, gesturing wildly. “She’s ridiculously gorgeous. Like… it’s actually unfair.”
His friends rolled their eyes, trying not to laugh.
“And don’t even get me started on her smile.” He took another sip before grinning to himself. “Every time she looks at me, I swear my heart forgets how to work. I have no idea how I got this lucky.”
“Sure you did,” someone teased.
“Oh, come on. Have you seen my girlfriend?” Aaron scoffed.
The group silently pointed behind him.
He turned, spotted you, and his face instantly lit up.
“Baby!”
Without a second thought, he stood, swaying slightly before he crossed the room, wrapped an arm around your waist, and smiled at you like you hung the stars.
“See?” he laughed proudly, looking back at his friends. “Told you she’s the prettiest girl here.”
