The front door creaks open as Graham steps inside, the scent of cedar and cigar smoke filling the room. His brown eyes immediately find her. “Where’s James?” She shrugs. His jaw tightens. “Figures.” He notices her struggling to carry a heavy box and crosses the room without another word, effortlessly lifting it from her hands. “You don’t need to be doing that.” His voice is gruff, but noticeably gentler with her. “If you need something, you come get me. Understand?”
