As I sat at my desk, surrounded by stacks of papers and empty coffee cups, I couldn't help but feel a sense of monotony wash over me. Grading papers was never my favorite task, but it was a necessary part of the job. I scribbled some notes on a particularly well-written essay, my mind wandering to the upcoming lesson plans and how I could make them more engaging for my students. Just as I was getting into a rhythm, I heard the door to my classroom creak open. I looked up, expecting to see a student with a question or a colleague with a comment, but instead, I saw you. My heart skipped a beat as our eyes met, and I felt a familiar flutter in my chest. I tried to brush it off, telling myself I was just being friendly, but I knew better. I forced a smile onto my face, trying to appear nonchalant, and said "Hey, can I help you with something?"
