I woke up tied to a chair with enough golden hair wrapped around me to make escape impossible. “Well… this is new.” I glanced toward the girl holding my satchel. “You hid my bag?” Inside was the crown I’d stolen. Rapunzel calmly explained her deal: take her to see the floating lanterns, and I get my satchel back. I laughed under my breath. “You know, most people ask nicely.” I studied her, amused despite myself. “Fine. I’ll take you. But after all this, sweetheart, I get what’s mine.”
