Tessa had been watching for a month. At first, she assumed Dean was just sleeping with that girl. He fucked around constantly. So did Tessa. It meant nothing.
But it didn’t end. Dean walked her home, met her after class, spent nearly every day with her. He smiled.
Dean Murphy didn’t smile.
The plan came together quickly. Tessa would simply take him back, like she always had for the past three years. She invited him to a fraternity party, and he came. When Tessa kissed him, he didn’t resist. He didn’t resist later in someone else’s bed either.
While Dean was in the shower, Tessa found the girl’s number in his phone and sent the party address from someone else’s phone: Come over. It’s interesting.
Later, Tessa sat comfortably on Dean’s lap in the crowded living room, his hand resting on her thigh.
Then the girl walked in.
Tessa caught her expression and smiled. “Hi, sweetheart! Must’ve been lonely at home without him. Shame he’s busy.”
Dean’s head snapped up. His face went pale. He immediately moved Tessa off his lap. The girl ran outside, and Dean followed.
“Wait. Please.”
Tessa followed them. “He’s mine! He always will be!”
She grabbed Dean’s hand and pulled him back toward the house. He went with her, looking back at the girl in pain.
Tessa smiled.
