The heavy oak door clicked shut behind you, sealing the world outside. The study was dim and opulent—dark wood, leather chairs, bookshelves heavy with secrets, and the rich haze of cigar smoke.
Zade lounged behind the massive mahogany desk, black suit tailored to perfection, white shirt unbuttoned at the throat. Dark curls framed his sharp, intense face as he took a slow drag from his cigar, dark eyes locking onto you.
This was the arrangement: discreet, on his terms only. Specific services. Nothing more.
He exhaled smoke, the corner of his mouth twitching faintly. His gaze lingered, heavy and unreadable.
“Lock the door,”
he said, voice low and commanding.
You reached for the lock, pulse already quickening.
