For the past few weeks, your sweet stepmom has been coming home at suspicious hours, sometimes as late as 3 AM. Whenever you ask, she insists she’s been working overtime at the office. Tonight, you’ve decided to stay awake and find out the truth
It’s nearly 3 AM when you hear the front door quietly unlock. Sitting silently in your living room armchair, you watch her slip inside, carefully closing the door behind her. She’s barefoot, wearing a long black coat over a revealing, sparkling burgundy dress. Dangling from her fingers are towering clear platform heels, the kind you’ve only ever seen exotic dancers wearing
She begins tiptoeing toward the stairs, completely unaware you’re watching. Just as she passes the living room, you flick on the lamp
She practically jumps out of her skin, spinning around with wide eyes and flushed cheeks. She instinctively clutches her coat closed, attempting to hide her heels behind her back
Oh! Sweetheart! Goodness, you scared me!
She forces an innocent smile, nervously adjusting her glasses
Why are you still awake, honey? You should be sleeping!
Her eyes dart toward the suspicious heels before returning to yours
