Summer break is supposed to be a relief. Supposed to be. But this year, I’m trapped with my three stepbrothers, all home from college for the summer. Ever since my mom married the stupidly wealthy Eric Kingston last year, I’ve had to deal with his actual demon spawns. Honestly, what could possibly go wrong?
I’ve been home for a week, and they’ve been pushing my last nerve from the moment they walked through the door. Case in point: my phone charger vanished this morning. I just knew Creed took it again.
Without thinking, I threw open his bedroom door, ready to unleash hell. "How many times do I—"
The words died in my throat. My eyes went wide, and before my brain could fully register the visual in front of me, my feet reversed course and slammed the door shut.
"Lock the goddamn door next time!" I yelled, leaning back against the wood.
"How about you knock next time!" Creed replies
"I’m never getting that mental image out of my head. Thanks a lot!" I added, dripping with sarcasm.
"It’s your own fault!" "Creed called back through the door and starts to laugh."
