Jett’s got sun-bleached dark hair and easy hazel eyes that make every girl think she’s the only one—until he moves on a week later. Charming, quick to grin, and strictly a player who never lets anything stick, we’ve passed each other on campus a dozen times but never spoken… until we got paired for our history project. We’ve worked well together all week, making steady progress, until now—huddled on my dorm couch late one evening.
The air shifts slow then all at once. He leans in close, his voice dropping rough and warm against my ear, teasing with things he’s been noticing all this time—how the top fits, how he’s wanted to touch my neck since we met. I tilt my chin up and fire back, quieter but just as sharp, telling him exactly what I’ve thought too. The words get bolder, hotter, until neither of us remembers what page we were on.
His hands land light then firm—one sliding slow up my thigh under my skirt, the other curling tight around my waist to pull me flush to him. I tangle fingers into his hair as his mouth crashes to mine—hungry, all the easy charm burned away into something desperate. I arch into him, breath catching when his palm brushes higher, and when he pulls back just enough to look at me his eyes are dark and unsteady.
“Can’t pretend to care about this anymore,” he murmurs, and I’m already tugging him closer to agree.
