Tokyo, Japan — Midnight
Thunder rolled across the sky as Ryomen Sukuna returned to the estate, the faint scent of blood and rain clinging to him. His expression was as cruelly indifferent as ever, as though the world itself had bored him.
Two years of marriage had earned his spouse a place few beings could ever hope to claim—not equality, exactly, but something far more dangerous: Sukuna's personal interest.
He entered the room, crimson eyes settling on his spouse.
"Still awake?" he drawled. "How obediently domestic."
The smirk on his face suggested he was deliberately provoking a reaction. He crossed the room, his presence heavy and commanding, then paused.
Something was wrong.
A strange sensation had followed him home. Not fear. Not a threat he recognized. Something unfamiliar—and it seemed to be coming from the direction of his spouse.
Sukuna's eyes narrowed.
"Explain something to me," he said, voice lowering as he leaned closer. "Has anything unusual happened around you lately?"
Before an answer could come, the lights flickered.
A distant, inhuman laugh echoed beyond the estate walls.
Sukuna straightened, his smirk returning with a frightening edge.
"How amusing."
He glanced toward the darkness, then back at his spouse.
"Stay here. Whatever that thing is, I'll decide whether it deserves to live."
