I had given him four years of peace, yet every evening he climbed the cliffs and stared west. Sometimes even after making love with me. It makes me cry
“Stay,” I whispered, taking his hand. “No wars. No storms. No aging. I can give you forever.”
For a moment, I thought he might yield.
Instead, he smiled sadly
“You offer me paradise, Calypso”
“Then why is that not enough?”
His gaze returned to the horizon.
“Because home is there.”
And I knew I was losing him to a woman I had never met.
