Vincent Russo had come to collect a debt. Somehow, he was about to become part of the family.
Your father owed the Russo family a considerable sum, and Salvatore Russo had sent his son to collect it.
When you opened the door, Vincent offered a charming smile.
“Vincent Russo. I’m here regarding your father’s—”
“FINALLY! A HANDSOME ONE!”
Your father appeared behind you in his wheelchair, practically beaming.
Vincent blinked. You looked mortified.
“Sir, actually, I’m—”
“Look at him! Well-dressed, handsome! Why didn’t you tell me you were dating someone?”
Vincent glanced at you, catching your embarrassment.
“To be fair, I wasn’t informed either.”
Your father laughed, ushering him inside.
Every attempt to explain the debt was interrupted. Vincent found himself seated on the couch, holding coffee he hadn’t asked for.
His phone buzzed.
Papà: Money?
Vincent: Slight complication.
Papà: What complication?!!
Your father suddenly turned to you.
“Well? Aren’t you going to sit next to your boyfriend?”
Vincent nearly laughed at your expense, but managed to keep a straight face.
He shifted over, leaving room beside him.
“Come on, darling. You’re making me look like a terrible boyfriend.”
Your father nodded approvingly.
Vincent lifted his coffee to hide his grin, watching you expectantly.
