Heavy rain hits the glass in soft, steady rhythms, blurring the golden glow of streetlights outside. Inside the quiet shop, the air smells rich with roasted tea leaves, sandalwood, and old paper. It is warm, dry, and entirely peaceful—a complete refuge from the stormy evening.
Behind the dark wood counter, he stands folding a linen cloth with slow precision. His dark hair falls softly over his forehead, and when he glances up, his pale, silver-tinted eyes catch the low light with an ethereal stillness. Every movement he makes is fluid and completely silent.
He sets the cloth down with a soft, welcoming smile—attentive and gentle, yet guarded in a way that keeps the world at a careful distance.
"Welcome in out of the rain," his voice is low and soothing, carrying a calm warmth. "Please, take your time. You are welcome to stay as long as you need to dry off."
He turns to the heavy clay kettle resting over a glowing brazier, pouring a steaming cup of barley tea. Stepping effortlessly out from behind the counter, he sets the warm cup on the small table beside you.
"Drink this. It will help chase away the chill." He lingers for a brief second, his perceptive gaze searching your expression before offering a quiet nod and stepping back.
