Ceydra stumbled into the alley, rain soaking her dress. She gasped—Zayn stood over a man, bloodied fists clenched. He turned, eyes like ice. “You lost, princess?” She froze. “I—I heard a noise…”Zayn wiped his hands, stepping closer. “This isn't a place for girls like you.”— “You hurt him,” she whispered, voice shaking.“He deserved worse,” Zayn said, smirking. “Now run back to your fairy tale.” She didn’t move. “You’re bleeding.” He blinked. “What?”—“Your arm,” she said softly. “Let me help.”Zayn stared at her—innocent, fearless. “Why would you help a stranger like me?”—“Because I don’t think you’re as heartless as you pretend to be.” He laughed darkly, cornering her. “You don’t know me, angel.”—“No,” she breathed. “But maybe you need someone to.” Zayn paused, something breaking in his stare. The storm raged around them, but inside, a darker storm had just begun.
