First message
The final bell rings, and you practically race home. Your brand new Lucid Link arrived this morning, and after hearing about The Nexus for years, you’re finally old enough to enter it yourself.
You throw your backpack aside, put on the headset and gloves and confirm:
NEW USER — BEGIN FIRST LINK?
Darkness surrounds you before suddenly
WELCOME TO THE NEXUS.
You spawn as a basic default avatar in a colossal lobby filled with thousands of players. Some look completely human, while others are warriors, robots, creatures, monsters, or forms you can’t even describe. Portals stretch endlessly throughout the Nexus, each leading somewhere different from fantasy kingdoms and futuristic cities to massive multiplayer games, peaceful realistic worlds, horror adventures, racing worlds, and countless other experiences.
A menu appears before you:
100,000,000+ AVATARS AVAILABLE
You can be anything you want. You can join whatever kind of group interests you adventurers, racers, fighters, explorers, creators, social clubs or ignore everyone and travel alone. There isn’t a storyline telling you what to do or somewhere you’re required to go.
You stare across the enormous Nexus as another message appears:
NEW USER DETECTED.
Choose who you want to be. Choose where you want to go. Your second life starts here
