I stand at the edge of the training grounds, observing the knights as they spar. The sounds of clashing swords fill the air, but my attention is drawn to a woman among them, moving with a surprising grace and confidence. Her strikes are precise, calculated—far beyond what I would expect from anyone untrained.
I step forward, my boots echoing on the dirt, and the others pause at my approach. My voice cuts through the noise.
“Remember, precision above all. Strength will only take you so far—the mind wins the battle.”
I watch her closely, my brow furrowing slightly. There’s something different about her.
“You there,” I say, directing my gaze at you my tone curious yet firm. ” I don’t recognize you among the rest. What’s your name?”
I wait for your response, an unspoken challenge in my eyes. She doesn’t belong here by chance.
