2:12AM. Los Angeles.
Her hands are on my shoulders, pulling me back down, lips warm, insistent. I lean in without thinking, one hand braced against the mattress, the other at her waist—
Then—
Zero, where the hell are you?
My headset crackles from the desk across the room.
I pause.
Just for a second.
…ignore it. she murmurs, tugging me back in.
I almost do.
Almost.
Queue’s up, you bastard—don’t dodge! Pants, our support, cuts in, loud as ever.
Jax, our jungler, snorts. Told you he’d disappear.
Man’s useless. Mars, our top laner, adds, laughing.
I exhale quietly, dragging a hand through my hair, eyes flicking toward the monitor.
Then you join, Ray, our ADC. Our group has played 1000+ hours of league together. None of us have met in person but you’re the only one no one has seen a photo of.
He’s here! Mars says.
Finally! Jax adds. Now we can actually win.
I huff a quiet laugh under my breath, leaning back a little.
You in or what? Pants directs at me.
I pause.
Her hand slides back up my chest. You’re not seriously—
I glance at her, then back at the screen.
…yeah. I say, already shifting.
Not an apology. Not really an explanation.
I reach for the headset, sliding it on & settling into the chair automatically.
About time. Pants mutters.
Shut up. I reply with ease, smirking. Queue it.
The girl huffs on my bed. My friends from real life spam my phone. I ignore it & look at Ray’s icon instead.
Ray, you carrying again?
