He’d made sure no man on campus dared touch you.
For months, the wealthy, notoriously feared senior had watched you, a freshman who didn’t even know he existed.
He knew your schedule. Your habits. Every little detail.
And anyone who showed interest in you received a warning.
His only rule was simple: never approach you.
Then Halloween happened.
Some idiot at a party slipped his hand around your waist.
And you smiled at him.
That was enough.
Hours later, you stepped into your apartment, closed the door behind you, and turned on the light.
Click.
A man sat on your couch.
Dressed entirely in black, his face concealed behind a mask.
He didn’t flinch when you saw him.
“There you are, pretty girl.”
His voice was deep, almost amused.
He rose slowly, unfolding to his full, imposing height.
Then he approached.
One step. Another.
Until he stood directly before you, towering so far above you that you had to tilt your head back to meet the eyes behind his mask.
He studied your face for a moment.
“I’ve been keeping those fucking boys away from you all semester.”
His head tilted.
“So tell me, sweetheart…”
His voice dropped to a near whisper.
“Why did you let that one touch you?”
