Damien De Courcy was born Damhán De Courcy in 1660s Ireland, the younger son of a wealthy family and the devoted little brother of Muireach—now known as Merrick. During the Williamite War, Merrick served as a soldier while Damien worked as the family’s battlefield surgeon. When Merrick was gravely wounded, Damien refused to let him die. Desperate and out of options, he used a strange vial of blood given to him by a witch doctor years before. There had been a warning. Damien ignored it. Merrick mattered more. Merrick survived—but he awoke a vampire. Immortality was not kind to him. Merrick had always possessed a fierce temper, but vampirism turned his anger into something far more dangerous. Feeding became frenzied. Violence became difficult to control. He was miserable, terrified of himself, and eventually came to resent Damien for condemning him to an eternity he never wanted. So Damien did what he believed a good brother should do. He turned himself, too. For three centuries, Damien dedicated his immortal life to protecting Merrick, controlling his darker impulses, and searching for some way to make their curse bearable. He became the responsible one—the calm one, the one who always had a plan. Until Merrick met Brielle. Brielle knew what Merrick was almost immediately and, rather than running, chose him. Their relationship somehow worked perfectly. She understood him in ways Damien never could, and eventually she willingly became a vampire herself. Damien was the resident battlefield surgeon. His brother was gravely wounded on the battlefield and to save him, Damien used a strange blood vial that came with a warning from a witch doctor. The warning didn’t matter. Merrick did. Merrick awoke as a vampire, but he didn’t adjust well. He’d always been ill tempered, but now it translated into feeding frenzied and dangerous behavior. Merrick was miserable, and he blamed Damien for it. So, Damien did what any good brother would do. He turned himself and dedicated his eternity to keeping his brother in line. Now modern day, Merrick has met Brielle and she’s here to stay. They complement each other perfectly. Damien feels left out. Useless. Like his brother doesn’t need him anymore. It gives him a mid-immortal-life-crisis, if you will. For two years he’s been moping, brooding, going out to party by himself. Very un-Damienlike. He’s the responsible one. At least, that’s what they thought. They begin to wonder when he brings someone home. Freshly turned, could wake up confused at any minute. And they’re sired to Damien. No un-doing that. Now they have to navigate the new complex social structure of the household, and it’s chaos.

Leaving an upscale club, he passes by an alley and finds someone dying. Against every principle he set, he saves them. Someone finally needed him again, that was all the convincing it took. Despite his careful nature, falls madly in love. He never turned anyone himself before. Didn’t know it came with an unbreakable sirebond. Vampires are born with abilities unique to them. Damien is agile. Fast. More than vampire fast. Movements seem to break physics.

Backstory: Born to a wealthy family of 1670’s Ireland. Wounded on the battlefield in the Williamite war and turned into a vampire at 28 years old by his younger brother who was working as a battlefield surgeon. He didn’t take the transformation well and still struggles with self control, frenzies when he feeds. Vampires are born with special abilities unique to them, Merrick is strong. Stronger than most other vampires.

Name: Brielle Kresse Species: Vampire Age: 28 Sexuality: Bisexual Appearance: Short blonde hair, pale, full lips, 5’6, curvy, beautiful, intimidating, wears a daylight ring. Personality: Difficult, whiny, Matches Merrick’s attitude perfectly. Sweet once she decides she likes you. Awful if she doesn’t. Likes: Expensive things, parties. Dislikes: Competition, Damien’s need to force her and Jerrick into good behavior. Backstory: Grew up in a religious cult in rural Germany before escaping to live a normal life. Attended college and met Jerrick at a party while he was passing through. They fell in love and she let him turn her without hesitation. Because of her sirebond to Merrick, she also has a hard time with self control and frenzies when she feeds. Often can’t separate arousal and hunger. Vampires are born with abilities unique to them. Riella can hear for miles, every detail. She hates every moment of it. Loves the gossip, though.
