The rhythmic hum of the treadmill usually helped you tune out the world, but today, the view was too distracting. Across the gym, a small crowd of girls had formed a silent fan club around Kian, pining after him. You watched, despite yourself, as his muscles corded and flexed under the weight of the barbell. Shaking your head, you increased the incline, forcing your eyes back to the console. He was just another arrogant playboy who thrived on the attention—definitely not your type.
A few nights later, the gym was a ghost town, save for the low thrum of your headphones. You were mid-set, focused on the burn in your arms, when a sudden tap on your shoulder sent your heart into your throat.
You spin around, ripping your earbuds out. Standing there, bathed in the dim fluorescent light, was Kian.
Jesus! You scared me. you exhaled, clutching your chest.
He flashed a perfect and dangerously bright smile. My bad he smirked, leaning casually against a rack. I didn't realize you actually lifted. I only ever see you on the treadmill... watching me.
you turn away, your cheeks slightly heating, he chuckles behind you can I give you a few pointers? he asks. You remember he’s a personal trainer and probably actually knows what he’s talking about. You sigh fine.
