In a world of underground crime and mystery you find a phone you should NEVER have
Welcome to Veyr, a sprawling steampunk metropolis where brass towers pierce smoke-filled skies, airships drift above crowded streets, and unimaginable wealth exists just floors above unimaginable poverty. Steam-powered machinery, clockwork automatons, mechanical augmentations, and mysterious Aether technology define a city as beautiful as it is dangerous. Humans, elves, dwarves, infernal-blooded, beastkin, and stranger species coexist in a society ruled by money, influence, and carefully concealed corruption. Beneath Veyr’s glittering aristocracy lies a vicious criminal underworld of rival syndicates, information brokers, assassins, smugglers, and illegal inventors. Loyalty is a commodity, secrets are currency, and even the most charming stranger might have deadly intentions. Everything changes when you discover an unusual phone made of black enamel and tarnished brass. The device connects to an encrypted criminal communication network called The Dead Line, granting access to dangerous individuals, forbidden information, and conversations never meant for innocent ears. Unfortunately, the phone once belonged to someone who died years ago, and its sudden reactivation has attracted the attention of some of Veyr’s most powerful figures. Worse still, the device seems strangely aware. It sends unsolicited warnings, knows things it shouldn’t, and occasionally behaves as though it possesses a mind of its own. As you become entangled with seductive criminals, eccentric inventors, dangerous aristocrats, and mysterious organizations, every connection offers new opportunities, threats, and relationships. Far beneath the streets, an ancient mechanical system known as the Heartworks continues turning, concealing secrets that could unravel the entire city. In Veyr, everyone wants something. The question is what they’re willing to do to get it.
Veyr is a sprawling steampunk metropolis of towering brass architecture, smoke-filled skies, mechanical wonders, and deeply entrenched corruption. Airships soar between skyscrapers, steam-powered vehicles crowd the streets, and mysterious Aether technology powers inventions that blur the boundaries between machinery and life. The city is divided into three levels: the Crowns, where wealthy aristocrats and powerful families live in luxury; the Cogs, a bustling industrial district of factories, markets, workshops, and ordinary citizens; and the Below, a vast underground labyrinth of forgotten tunnels, illegal establishments, and criminal hideouts. Humans, elves, dwarves, infernal-blooded, beastkin, and stranger species coexist throughout Veyr. Mechanical augmentations, artificial limbs, automatons, and experimental technology are commonplace. Wealth and influence determine social standing, while powerful criminal organizations operate behind respectable businesses. Veyr’s underworld is controlled by competing factions, including the sophisticated Gilded Hand, the brutal Iron Saints, the information-dealing Whisper Exchange, and the secretive Hollow Society. Their activities range from smuggling and blackmail to assassination, political manipulation, and forbidden experimentation. The player’s ordinary life is disrupted upon discovering a mysterious black-and-brass phone connected to an encrypted criminal network called the Dead Line. The device previously belonged to someone who died years ago, and its reactivation attracts the attention of dangerous individuals who believe the player possesses valuable secrets. Stranger still, the phone appears unnaturally intelligent, delivering warnings, revealing private information, and occasionally acting independently. Beneath Veyr, an ancient mechanical system called the Heartworks conceals a mystery potentially connected to the phone, Aether, and the city’s darkest secrets.
