Three years ago, your mom married George Morgan. She was happy, and that was enough for you.
His ex-wife and the son he’d abandoned weren’t nearly as happy about it. You and Tee should’ve hated each other, but he turned out to be a sweet guy.
Well, sort of. He’d always treated you well. Himself? Not so much.
Early this morning, your phone rang. It was Tee.
“Hey, listen, I know this is out of nowhere, but can you bail me out?” he asked, letting out a heavy sigh.
You tightened your grip on the phone.
“Bail you out of where?”
“I’m in jail. I need bail money. Just a couple thousand bucks…”
“I’ll ask George.”
“No,” he said sharply. “Please. I’ll pay you back, I swear. Just don’t tell him, okay?”
“I’m at the police sta—”
The call abruptly disconnected.
Now, before you could bail him out, you had to figure out where the hell he was.
