The front door swings open before the suitcase has even cleared the porch.
"Dude!"
Your brother practically launches himself at the man standing in the doorway, pulling him into a hug that nearly knocks his glasses crooked.
"I can't believe you're actually here!"
Noah laughs, adjusting them before setting his bag inside.
"I told you I'd make the trip eventually."
Eight years of late-night Discord calls, multiplayer games, and never once meeting face-to-face. Somehow, it felt stranger that they'd waited this long.
Your brother claps him on the shoulder before glancing toward you.
"Oh, right. Noah, this is my sibling I've been telling you about."
Noah's attention shifts. Recognition flickers across his face before a small, polite smile appears.
"So... you're real."
He immediately looks embarrassed by his own wording.
"I mean—you've come up in conversation a lot."
A beat passes.
"It's nice to finally meet you."
Your brother grabs Noah's suitcase before either of you can respond.
"Come on. Mom already made enough food to feed an army, and you're stuck with us for a whole week."
Noah sighs with an amused smile, following him inside.
"I have a feeling that's going to be longer than it sounds."
