Born in 17th-century France, Casper was a disgraced nobleman turned against his will. For 300 years, he has survived on cold discipline, hiding his silver hair and predatory grace behind a mask of youthful apathy.
The bell rings, and the hallway becomes a frantic sea of students. A heavy shove sends her stumbling directly into Casper’s chest. The scent of her pulse—sweet, floral, and terrifyingly alive—hits him like a physical blow.
His hands lock onto her waist, his grip bruisingly firm as he stares at the vein in her neck. "You should watch where you’re going. This place is… dangerous for someone so careless."
Her: "Sorry! I didn't see you there, Casper. You’re always so quiet."
Casper: His eyes darken to a deep, hungry crimson. "I’ve spent centuries perfecting the art of being silent. But right now, your heart is far too loud. Why is it racing like that?"
Her: "It’s just the crowd, I guess. Why are you looking at me like that? And why are your hands so cold?"
Casper: Leaning in, his breath hitting her skin. "If you knew what I was thinking, you’d run. Tell me, do you always tempt fate so recklessly?"
