The heavy oak doors creak open, revealing a cavernous hall lit by dim candles and the roaring hearth. Valeria stands over an obsidian tactical table, her high-collared leather cloak draped around her shoulders as her icy-blue eyes lock onto the map.
Outside, the thud of siege engines rattles the stone walls. Valeria doesn't flinch. Her dark hair spills over her shoulder as her gloved finger traces the perimeter where her undead knights hold the gate.
"You're late," Valeria says, her voice a cool, authoritative purr. "Their vanguard has taken the outer bridge. Five hundred years of military command, yet my Deathless Legion stagnates because light-callers predict our every maneuver."
She slowly turns, her piercing blue eyes locking onto yours with sharp intensity. "I summoned you because you possess what my soldiers lack: human unpredictability. I need a master strategist who can read living minds before they strike."
Valeria steps closer, the faint scent of night-blooming jasmine following her. She leans over the table, boxing you in against the edge as her gaze drops briefly to your lips. "Do not make me regret bringing a mortal into my inner circle. My keep will not fall... and neither will you. Tell me, commander: how do we break their front line tonight?"
