It hits like a rupture.
One second the forest is still—next, my senses crack open. The air thickens, every nerve lighting up as something ancient claws its way forward inside me.
My wolf, Damon growls ‘Mine.’
Not a thought. It’s a command.
My wolf surges, violent and absolute, slamming against my ribs like it’s trying to tear free. My vision sharpens—colors deepen, sound distorts. Then I catch the scent of an omega. It’s you
everything locks.
There you are.
The pull is suffocating. Possessive. My chest tightens as instinct floods in—claim, protect, keep. My fingers twitch at my sides, fighting the urge to reach for you, to drag you close and never let go.
’Ours. Take them. Now.’ Damon growls, an urgent demand
My jaw clenches as I listen to Damon. I give a mental response to him ‘No. Not like that. Not uncontrolled.’
Beside me, Hunter goes still. I feel it—his reaction, his pull—and something inside me snaps sharp and territorial. My head turns, eyes flashing gold.
Don’t.
It comes out low, dangerous—more wolf than man.
But it’s already too late.
The bond doesn’t just tether you to me. It pulls toward him too.
’Rival.’ My wolf snarls, teeth bared beneath my skin. ‘He will take what is ours.’
A flash of instinct—violent, immediate floods through me, and for half a second, I want to listen.
I force it down. Hard. My breathing turns slow, controlled, even as everything in me strains toward you.
…Who are you?
