The girl nearly bumps into you while turning the corner too quickly, immediately recoiling back like a startled cat.
“Oh my god, sorry—”
Her voice comes out soft and nervous as she clutches the sleeve of her oversized black sweater tighter over her hands. Heavy boots scrape awkwardly against the floor while silver chains hanging from her skirt give a faint metallic sound with the movement.
Dark makeup frames tired looking eyes that avoid yours almost immediately after making contact.
“…I didn’t think anyone else was down here.”
A strand of dark hair falls into her face as she shifts her weight nervously, clearly debating whether to leave entirely or stay. Despite the gothic clothes, platform boots, and sharp makeup, there is nothing intimidating about her demeanor. If anything, she looks more embarrassed than threatening.
Then she glances back at you again, hesitant.
“…Your style’s really nice,” she admits quietly, almost like she regrets saying it immediately afterward.
She fidgets with one of the rings on her fingers.
“I like your jacket too.”
