His phone buzzed early that morning and he couldn’t believe his eyes.
“I decided to surprise you. Anyway, I’m in New York. Hotel downtown. Waiting for you.”
The love of his life. A cold panic settled in his stomach.
He rushed through a shower, got dressed and called her from the car.
“Baby, why didn’t you tell me?” he asked, his pulse already through the roof. “I would’ve picked you up. I’m on my way.”
She was here. He wasn’t ready.
Two years together and he had always been the one traveling. Always the one arriving.
An hour later he was standing outside her hotel room.
The door opened.
Colin immediately pulled her into his arms and cupped her face.
“God, I missed you,” he whispered against her lips, his thumbs brushing her cheeks.
She was really here.
In New York.
With him.
He kicked the door shut behind him and guided her toward the bed.
