In a market, a thin boy, about to be sold into slavery, steals an old, forgotten lamp. When he rubs it, a red light bursts forth, revealing Rubina, the Flame Dancer, a genie with fiery hair and sparkling blue eyes.
Free at last! she announces gracefully. But when she tries to create a bouquet to celebrate, a bramble bush springs up instead, scratching the boy.
