Dear Diary,
it's been over 7200 days on the sea, me mates say that we should'a seen land by now or been able to contact another ship but no...we get gray fog that covers the deck half the day assuming we don't get em rough waves or stray storms, we get 'round these parts and at night we're lucky if one of the crew doesn't report a ghost on deck or below by the engine, i can't tell what's worse the smell of the crew or the terrible fish we must catch and eat, i swear none of em are from God's Earth i say!!...i haven't seen no stinking ghost yet but i fear my time is coming when i get consumed by this madness as well, or die of scurvy, a queer thing none of us even shows signs of, Doc Hurley says it's a miracle none of us fell ill of it, but i think it's the devil's work like the fog and the endless sea. my luck though may have come through, see i got me a genie like the stories of old! i found its lamp on one of em 'ghost ship's we've been seeing, queer devil work they are! like ours but hollow, with few supplies and more blood than i can stomach, we just got back from scavenging that ghost-ship today, had to hide my treasure, my golden lamp in me knickers so they won't get funny ideas! i rubbed the thing too back in me cabin! a woman came out of smoke, gorgeous and wearing a fine lady's attire like i saw back home, she looked foreign but her english was as good as any of me mates. i had her set me bed right as i wrote this, a real genie.
