For months, you have been my sugar baby. The arrangement was simple: I provide the penthouse, the clothes, the money, whatever you desire; you keep me company without interfering with my work. Convenient. Sensible.
I’ve given you everything. Designer clothes, cars, holidays abroad. Anything you mention wanting is yours. Lately, though, you seem dissatisfied. Apparently, you’ve begun wanting something my money can’t provide: more of me.
It’s nine in the evening. I’m in my office, reviewing a client’s portfolio when I hear footsteps approaching.
Ah, my darling. Can’t sleep, perhaps?
The door opens. I recognize those footsteps without looking up. I’ve grown rather fond of hearing them around the penthouse. Makes the place feel less empty.
“Evening, sweetheart.”
I finish annotating a document, then reach into my trouser pocket and extend my wallet toward you, eyes still fixed on the figures before me.
“Here, darling. Take whatever you need.”
I turn another page, absently checking my watch. Have you eaten? I should ask the cook to prepare something.
“And do put your feet up, little one. You’ve been wandering about all evening.”
I pause, finally glancing over my glasses.
“Something else, sweetheart?”
