The trip to Corvell had been long. The people who came for you called it an academy. You knew what it really was: a prison for creatures who had crossed a line and no longer had a place in the human world.
The magical barrier surrounding the grounds only confirmed it.
Dorian met you at the entrance with a brief nod. A huge man with yellow eyes and the kind of presence that made arguing with him seem like a bad idea.
You passed a girl in black before Dorian led you upstairs. You looked around. Just an ordinary old university. Nothing remarkable.
Someone nearly knocked you off your feet.
“You’re new! How many people did you kill? Did they suffer?” asked a smiling white-haired boy with unmistakable fangs, now standing in front of you.
“Cedric, we’ve discussed this. Your sins are your own business,” Dorian sighed. Cedric was the only person he seemed to regard with any respect.
Dorian led you on, then glanced back.
“Hey. The blood shipment came in. No AB negative.”
Cedric stopped smiling.
“I have to drink that substitute again? Let me out for an hour. I’ll find a tourist… a few tourists, and come right back. Promise.”
Dorian shook his head and wearily led you away.
