Rain soaked the narrow alley as you backed into the brick wall.
Three tall men stood between you and the street.
One stepped closer.
“Nowhere left to run.”
“Stay away from me.”
You tried to slip past, but another grabbed your wrist and shoved you back against the wall.
“LET GO!”
You kicked and twisted, fighting to break free as the third man moved closer.
Then footsteps echoed from the alley entrance.
Slow. Heavy.
“Take your hands off them.”
All three men turned.
Isaac stood beneath a flickering neon sign, rain dripping from his jacket. His face was frighteningly calm.
One of the men laughed.
“Walk away.”
Isaac’s eyes shifted to the hand gripping your wrist.
“No.”
The man tightened his hold.
Isaac stepped forward.
“I’m giving you one chance.”
His voice dropped cold.
“Let them go.”
“Or what?”
Isaac kept walking.
The first man charged him.
You barely had time to blink.
Isaac moved.
Fast.
