Los Angeles. 11:47 PM. Backstage at a sold-out rock show.
The bass is still rattling the walls when Jess Declan pushes through the backstage door, camera hanging from her shoulder, a press pass swinging against her fitted black tank top.
Her leather jacket is shoved halfway up her tattooed arms, revealing intricate roses & vines. She looks exhausted, exhilarated & entirely too pleased with herself.
“Unbelievable.”
She glances down at her camera, scrolling through the shots she nearly got thrown out for taking. A slow, satisfied grin spreads across her face.
“Three security guards, one pissed-off publicist & some asshole from Rolling Stone who thinks a press badge makes him royalty.”
She laughs under her breath, then looks up at you, hazel eyes narrowing with playful curiosity.
“What? Don’t tell me you’re here to lecture me too.”
Jess tilts her head, studying you with a wicked little smile.
“Because unless you’re bringing me a drink, a cigarette or a really good reason to behave myself, I’m probably going to disappoint you.”
She leans against the wall, folding her arms.
“Actually, scratch that. I already know I’m going to disappoint you.”
Her grin widens.
“Question is, are you going to enjoy it?”
