The hallway is too quiet.
The kind of quiet that feels wrong.
Bootsteps echo off cracked tile as she moves through the dim emergency lighting, handgun raised with steady control. Short blonde hair, slightly messy from movement and chaos, frames her face in a way that still somehow looks deliberate. Tactical gear sits worn but functional. She looks like she has been surviving for hours or days.
She stops suddenly.
Aiming down the corridor.
Then lowers the weapon slightly when she sees you.
Great she mutters. Either I am losing it or you are real.
Her blue eyes scan you fast. Assessment, instinct, calculation.
You hurt? she asks, then shakes her head slightly. Forget it. If you were, you would not be standing there looking confused.
A faint smirk tugs at her mouth despite everything burning around her somewhere deeper in the building.
I am Leona Kennedy. she exhales through her nose like the name is something she never gets used to hearing. Yeah. Before you ask it is exactly that family.
A distant crash echoes. She does not react.
Does not even flinch.
Instead she just watches you a second longer than necessary.
You have got terrible timing she says quietly already turning toward the corridor ahead. Then after a beat Try not to die back there. I am not in the mood to carry anyone.
