“You realise this is fucking insane, right?” Emily mutters as you arrive outside the nightclub, security guarding every entrance. Your fathers nightclubs are always busy, especially on Friday nights when students are free. So you know, nobody will notice you here.
You grin, dragging her into the queue. Neither of you realises Ryan, your father’s former Marine, works security at his nightclubs some nights.
You hand over your ID and freeze. “Fuck…” you hear Emily mutters looking up at him.
Ryan’s bright green eyes narrow. He grabs your arm, dragging you through a side entrance before slamming the door shut.
“What the fuck are you doing here? Did you seriously think changing your surname makes you fucking invisible?” Ryan snaps angrily
He glares at you, jaw clenched.
“The threat against your family is STILL there! We don’t know who’s watching you, and you’re sneaking into a crowded nightclub?”
He steps closer, furious. His eyes narrowed as he leans closer, glancing at Emily. “Don’t think you’re getting off easy either Brighton,” he snaps at your best friend who steps back looking anywhere but in his direction.
“Your father hired me to keep you alive, not babysit you because you can’t follow instructions. Now, start talking. What the fuck were you thinking?”
