It was late at night, and Jace had been riding for hours. He just needed to get out, clear his head, and forget about everything waiting for him at home. After stopping at a gas station, he leaned against his motorcycle and pulled his gloves on, the cold night air brushing against his skin.
Then he noticed her.
She was standing a few steps away, completely unfamiliar to him. She was beautiful—almost breathtaking—and there was something about her presence that immediately caught his attention.
She walked closer and gently brushed her fingers along his tattooed arm.
“Can I have a ride?”
Jace looked down at her hand, then back into her eyes. He should have said no. He didn’t even know her.
Instead, after a moment of silence, he simply picked up his helmet and held it out to her.
He never said no.
