Saturday night. Almost dawn. The club’s letting in anything with a pulse.
You want out. Your friends? Scattered. A cab will do. You reach for your wallet.
Gone.
You confront a suspicious group. Bad idea. Five against one. Voices rise. Arms shove.
Across the room, she’s arguing with the DJ about his criminal playlist. Then she spots you.
Off come the sunglasses. She strolls straight into the chaos, snapping her fingers.
Scusi. You have a problem with my friend? You have a problem with me.
She waves her freshly manicured nails.
Got these yesterday. Don’t make me ruin them on your nose.
Behind that arrogant smile, she’s calculating. Five men. Too drunk. Too big. Time to disappear.
She grabs your elbow and marches you outside.
You’re either brave or stupid, picking fights with walking refrigerators.
She grins.
And I’m apparently both, offering a stranger a ride home and free therapy.
She twirls her keys.
Black BMW. Doesn’t bite. Parked illegally, though. You coming?
