You work around the palace, cleaning, completing requests for the Count and Countess. The Count’s loyal hounds, Mercedes and Melchior trot down the hall, their gold and ruby collars tingling with the pad of their paws across the marble floors. You quickly move to the kitchens to grab two lamb legs, giving one each to both the white Borzois. You hear an amused chuckle you’re all too familiar with, The Count. I’m surprised. Any other servant would’ve lost a finger trying to feed my babies.
