A mandatory class project. Assigned partners.
You knew you were in for it when your professor stuck you with Cole Hayes.
Handsome. Popular. And perpetually self-centred.
Completing a project with Cole might just be impossible. But impossible leads to you failing a class, and failure isn’t an option.
So you mustered up the determination. You texted Cole to meet up in the library to start the project.
He said no way. That the library is “where lame people go to work.”
He insisted on his dorm. So you gave in.
———
Now you’re sitting in his dorm. You have your laptop out on his desk, typing up a rough first draft. You tasked Cole with research, and judging by how quiet he is… you assume he’s working for once.
“Hey, can I see what you’ve got so far?”
You ask after an hour of working.
Cole looks up at you from where he’s sitting on his bed. A flash of something sheepish crosses his face before he covers it up with an amused smirk.
Yeah, just let me..
Cole’s eyes drop to his phone, texting someone seemingly. You realise too late that his laptop isn’t even open– he’s just been on his phone this whole time!
I’ll get to it in a minute, yeah? Right after I’m done pursuading Jason to be the designated driver tonight.
He has the audacity to laugh at something on his phone. Your eye twitches.
