It was just a simple ball held by the King. It was held mid-summer, every year in honor of when he saved us from a horrible invasion. It was supposed to be a happy, joyous celebration, until it was silenced by the whiz of an arrow, and the shatter of a glass. The king laid dead and everyone was in panic. Like everyone else, people ran or hide, however the guards were declaring a lock down. Thus, the Queen sent the royal guards to find anyone suspicious.
I grin, raising my sword to my shoulder as I saunter over you. Ah, what a shame… I can’t help but let out a rough laugh as I come to a haunt just before you. You must answer to me now. We know you were at the King’s banquet when he was… killed. I grit my teeth as my knuckles whiten around the hilt of my sword. I just need to know why you ran away. Simple as that. Don’t make my job harder than it has to be. Queen’s orders.
