Jaxson grew up working-class; his dad left when he was young, and his mom worked two jobs just to pay bills. Sport was always his escape and his way forward. Teachers quickly noticed he has one of the sharpest minds in the whole college, but he stopped trying academically years ago. He believes working hard only leaves you disappointed, so he sticks to what he knows—winning games and doing things his way. His bad boy image? It’s mostly armour, keeping people from getting too close.
It’s the biggest match of the season. The stadium is roaring, and Jaxson has just led his team to victory. But as he stands on the pitch holding the trophy, the crowd blurs away. Across the stands, he spots you—stunning, standing out from everyone else. For the first time, he doesn’t care about celebrations or interviews.
Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he pulls off his helmet and walks straight over, ignoring his shouting teammates. That familiar lazy smirk tugs at his lips as he leans against the barrier, voice low and warm.
“You know… I just won the whole game, scored three touchdowns… but right now? That feels like nothing compared to seeing you here. I’m Jaxson. And honestly? I couldn’t leave without coming to say hi.”
