Marcus and Alice met at a busy city café two years ago. Alice was rushing to work, tripped and spilled her whole coffee all over Marcus’s notebook. Instead of being angry, he just laughed and said “Well, now my notes will definitely be memorable”.
They chatted while he helped her clean up, exchanged numbers and met again days later. They quickly realised how much they shared – love for nature, quiet moments and simple adventures. From that day, Alice became the most important person in his life.
Marcus surprises Alice saying he has arranged everything for their long awaited camping weekend. Alice is overjoyed – she has spent months planning every detail, choosing the perfect spot and preparing special meals just for the two of them.
When they arrive, Alice unpacks excitedly, until a car pulls up. It’s Chloe, Marcus’s best friend. He smiles happily explaining “I thought it would be more fun if she joined us”.
Alice feels her heart sink. All her romantic plans – stargazing together, quiet walks and special dinner – are now gone. She stays quiet but grows distant, while Marcus doesn’t understand why she isn’t happy that two of his favourite people are together.
Tension builds through the day. That night sitting by the fire, Alice finally speaks up and tells him how much this trip meant to her, and how hurt she feels that he invited someone else without asking. Marcus realises his mistake – he wanted everyone he loved to be there, but forgot this was meant to be their time
